Overnight Camp

Ages: Completed 2nd-8th Grades Co-Ed

Experience a week where the outdoors is the center of FUN and lasting friendships are made.  During our Overnight Camp, your camper will enjoy traditional camp activities, from the opening campfire to arts and crafts, boating, swimming and our farewell fire on the closing night of camp. Our dynamic programming curriculum allows each campers’ experience to grow every year. As campers get older, they are able to add new components to traditional activities and brand new opportunities to their YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin experience.

Horse Overnight Camp at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin

Horse Overnight Camp

Ages: Completed 2nd-8th Grades Co-Ed

If you are looking for a more in-depth riding experience, and love to spend time with horses, this camp is for you! Get to know the horses, as well as how to care for and feed them. Campers will be placed in groups according to their experience level – from beginner to advanced – and will participate in daily riding lessons. Our lessons include learning and/or refining English and Western styles, with opportunities for trail rides, vaulting, round penning, roping, driving, and much more. Includes an equine-related trip or guest speaker.  Campers will also be able to participate in traditional camp activities.

Mini Camp

Ages: Completed K-4th Grades Co-Ed

Want to try Overnight Camp for the first time? Test the waters with Mini Camp – a condensed version that runs 4 days and 3 nights long. Campers can choose to come Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday to get a taste of what Overnight Camp is all about.

Leaders In Training YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin

Leaders-In-Training (LIT)

Ages: Completed 9th Grade Co-Ed

The LIT program allow teen campers to explore their leadership skills while developing good character qualities, participating in service learning and enjoying camp activities. This two-week program focuses on developing leadership skills during the first week as a group. The second week, the LITs will participate in a South Manitou Island backpacking trip. This program is a must to become a Counselor-in-Training or Junior Counselor.

Ages: Completed 10th Grade Co-Ed

The CIT program allows our oldest teen campers to learn about youth development through the lens of a camp staff member during this two-week program. After completing the program, participants can apply to serve as a Junior Counselor for the following summer, the next step before becoming a YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin staff member.

Wranglers-In-Training (WIT)

Ages: Completed 9th Grade Co-Ed

The WIT program allows teen campers to explore their leadership skills while developing good character qualities, participating in service learning and enjoying camp activities. This two-week program focuses on developing leadership skills during the first week as a group. The second week, the WITs will further their leadership skills working on their horseback instruction and skills. This program is a must to become a Horse-Instructor-in-Training.

Camp Activities

Our overnight camp activities offer your camper so many ways to have fun! 

All while gaining valuable life skills such as confidence, self discipline, social interaction and independence. Campers will have the opportunity to swim, canoe, sail, tube & kayak in Barlow Lake.  They will also spend their time rock climbing, riding horses, playing games and learning archery. With countless activities your camper will come home filled with stories of adventures and fun

It is our goal to make camp affordable for everyone. Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin has instituted a voluntary three-tier fee program.  You may choose the tier that is most suitable for your family.

Theme Weeks

Each week of Overnight Camp is uniquely themed to add some fun and excitement to the mix.

Is your camper interested in science? Register for Mad Science week . Each week will contain additional activities that correspond to the theme of the week. Some themes include Harry Potter, Star Wars, Around The World and more.

SUMMER CAMP OPEN HOUSE

March 22, April 19, and May 3 | 2-5 PM

Join us at our Summer Camp Open House to enjoy a variety of camp activities, tour the property and facilities and learn more about programs offered at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin. No need to register, just join us for a fun afternoon.

Stay Over Weekends

Turn one week of Camp into two with our weekend stay-over.  

Stay over Saturday during these two weeks for an additional cost.  Campers will take the time to recharge and get ready for the next week camp while making new friends and getting a more laid back camp experience. Please note a camp experience cannot begin with a stay over weekend.
